Let's get this straight :)

Pre Norton 2004 (2000, 01, 02, 03) = No Product Activation

ALL Norton AntiVirus Corporate Editions = No Product Activation (comes with most OEMs and Academic licensing schemes)

Norton 2004 (Professional) = Activation Required
(store copies, retail/boxed copies)

Warez'ed Norton 2004 (Pro) = Activation Required, but there are 'methods' of activating. (blocking internet access during the activation process, keygen'ing an activation string/code, blah blah).

*whistles*

and of course, not that I have any affiliation with any such 'warez' groups :p :p :D ;)

Its Norton 2002. And everyone seemed to miss my point. I dont want to resubscirbe or reap the benifits of subscibing for free.

I JUST WANT THAT DAMN WINDOW TO STOP COMING UP TELLING ME TO RESUBSCRIBE.

How do I get rid of it?? :(:(:(:(

Uninstall, reinstall.

Norton will always ask you to resubscribe, or update your virus definitions if they are out of date, or if your LiveUpdate subscription service has ended.

What is the point of having Antivirus software when you are using old virus definition files, or if you cannot update such files.

I think Norton has 'purposefully' built that "window/notice" into the application itself, so as to annoy you THAT much, you will end up re-subscribing.

Again, if you're sick of it, and wish to continue using Norton AV, then uninstall it, or reinstall a newer edition (2003, 2003 Professional, 2004, 2004 Professional Edition).

"That damn window telling you to resubscribe" is there for a reason. You HAVE TO resubscribe, (or at least, update your virus definitions) if you want to remove the window/notice/prompt, that is it's purpose.

You have a few choices:

a) Upgrade to Norton AV 2003 or 2004.
b) Uninstall NAV completely, and stop using AV software
c) Uninstall NAV, and reinstall NAV (2002 or newer)
d) Update your virus definition files (I assume they are 'old' and Norton is trying to update your definitions, but you are no longer subscribed).

I recommend option A or C.

:)

When you say "Upgrade to Norton AV 2003 or 2004" you mean going out and finding someone with it and installing on my comp?

Purchasing NAV 2003 (upgrade) to install over your existing 2002 installation, or having NAV 2003 (or higher) installation/setup CDs (or disks) to install over the top, or as a clean (fresh) installation, uninstalling NAV 2002 and installing the newer edition.

Essentially, yes.
You could go out and find someone who has NAV 2003 CDs and installing it onto your computer, but there are rules now in-place here in the IT stuff forum, so we have to be careful as we're skating on thin ice here. ;)

if your asking where you can purchase it...

then Harvey Norman, Local Computer Stores, Domayne, all the places where they sell software generally sell Norton
