Ok i want to do electrical engineering combined with advanced science but apparently UNSW doesnt doesnt allow you to combine with advanced science, why so?

Because of that i am seriously considering going to USYD instead, but it is not renown for engineering, is USYD really that bad for engineering? and if i want to get a job as an engineer after uni would it be wiser for me to just scrap the idea of combining with advanced science and go to the more reputable engineering uni or...?

if your ultimate goal is to become an engineer, then why bother with an advanced science degree...?

(ive always thought people who want to do advanced science are dead set on becoming scientists, thats why you cant combine it with anything, cause a double in anything would detract you from the science aspect)

advanced science is the same as ordinary science, except you do advanced units instead of regular units afaik
But can you still do those advanced units if you're doing a regular science degree? (I plan on doing pretty much the same thing as this guy.)

Cheers.

i think so - looking at the course plans adv science just has some random specialist seminars with all the other adv science students, but the actual courses are also available to sci students (although, obviously, they are harder because they are advanced courses)

this is what i gathered from the course plans + handbook
Thanks that's reassuring  Not particularly worried about the seminars.
