Not been able to get a HSC? (2 Viewers)

Hello,
Well due to various reasons I have stacked up an unfortunate 25+ days away from school this year.
I've heard a rumour that after 30 days you can not qualify for the Higher School Certificate. Is this true?

Well let's see. On average there are 10 weeks in a term and 4 terms in a year. So 40 weeks in year 12. 5 days per week, so 40 x 5 = 200 days for year 12. You need to have an attendance of 80%+ (if i remember correctly), so you need to go to 160 days a year and miss equal or less than 40 days on average.

So no, you should be fine and if you have a valid excuse with doctors certificates etc etc you should be fine anyway

Doesn't mean you decide to skip any more days of scohol on purpose.

i actually asked my year advisor this the other day, and she told me "there is no minimum you have to attend to be eligible, but when you start skipping class you can get N awards for class work, which is when you have a problem"

but iv also heard the 80% rule, the 85% rule, the 95% rule... theres no official document that anyone can link to, so i wouldnt fret too much

My understanding, from the BOS, is that as long as the candidate can show that they have achieved some of the outcomes of the courses being undertaken then they are eligible for an HSC. There is no minimum days or class time that needs to be attended but that all assessment tasks (actually 50% of the assessment tasks in weight and total number) have to be attempted.
