does anyone know approx how many ppl get a uai of over 99. my mate told me about 1500 but that sounds too high

isnt it a bell curve?. so as u go down therll be more ppl on hte smae mark?

As you go down there will be less people on the same UAI level, as it is a rank compared to your year 10 cohort, and it is less likely someone bound for 99 would drop out than someone who was going to get like 50.

Well, considering it's about 40 people per .05 increment, it would just be flat with a dip at 100.00

nah because each .05 increment is really just a rounding of the .025 points either side, and since 100.00 only has it one 1 side, it has half the people.

Anyway, the bell curve is correct. There are more people at the median of the state, and less at the extremities, but when you RANK EACH PERSON IN ORDER and apply a percentile of the state ranking system, there (by necessity) has to be the same amount of people in each percentile (assuming no one is ever equal to anyone else).

66000 ppl sat the hsc including some yr 11's?

Year 11's did not receive a UAI, and UAI accounts for dropouts in year 10
