Hey guys, im really interested in being a midwife but what course do you think is better to do: bachelor of nursing than specialising in midwife, or doing bachelor of midwife for 3 yrs.
Whats the diff between them, which course has more benefits.

Well, I don't think you can make a comparison between the two because nobody has ever done both. I think it would be best to email the UTS faculty for your query and they can tell you what is so good about their course, but keep in mind that it's holiday season and so it might take a while for you to get a response. You can do some research on the faculty website about the benefits of each degree.

i want to do nursing and midwifery at uts next year too, and what i have decided to do is do the bachelor of nursing, and then spend one year afterwards doing the graduate diploma of midwifery...that way i can be a nurse and a midwife, and then i dont have to spend 6 years at uni doing the courses separatly!
what do you want to major in in the nursing degree? i want to do neonatal care and pediatrics!

You can do a 3 year midwifery degree at uts but I heard that entry is competitive.

Yea well at orientation this year there only seemed to be a few younger, recent school levers entering hte midwifery course.

I want to get into paediatrics too!

Last time I checked, Neonatal care isn't an elective for a submajor...

3 year sub major prac might get you into a hospital with a neonate unit. however, i dont know if people do go in units.
sub major is paeds.
