Has anyone accelerated into the second year of either Physics, Chemistry or Biology? I read that, if you have participated in one of the Science Olympiads (http://www.aso.edu.au/www/index.cfm) that, because you have already learnt first year Physics/Chemistry or Biology that you can jump straight into the second year (http://www.science.usyd.edu.au/cstudent/ug/course/tsp/index.shtml).

Does/Has anyone do/done that?

What is it like?

For Physics, does not doing 2nd year math but first year interfer with the Physics?

Thanks

I have a handful of friends who went straight into 2nd year Chemistry/Biology because they were on the Olympiad teams. It's not enough to only have attended training, etc. Don't know of anyone doing it for Physics. But the Chemistry/Biology friends are doing fine so I'd imagine Physics to be simliar.

Well 2nd year maths (MATH2061/2961) is a corequisite for advanced second year physics, but i guess it might be possible to get it waived. I haven't heard of anyone being accelerated in physics, even though some of my friends did participate in the Physics Olympiad.
