at the moment i have a folder for each subject to take to school -- this can sometimes get confusing. Others go for the one folder for all, but then that can get too heavy.

which is the better option for next year?

how do you manage your school notes ?

use one to take to school, and when you are done with a certain area of a topic, transfer the stuff into the subject's folder which you will keep at home...

I didn't have a folder in yr 11 but I'm planning to have one for next term. I really don't like the idea of carrying the big folder either, but it does take some weight off your bag (if you carry more than two textbooks). I'll then, and hopefully, file all my stuff in a separate folder at home.

why don't u carry books instead? everything is in the book rather than on separate sheets of paper and you don't need to organise your notes; it's all in order in the book! hehe it's also less confusing. but then again, i guess it makes your bag heavy which explains why my back is like, sooo bad!!

yeah, capsicum, thats what I did for yr 11, combined with like 2 or 3 other textbooks. Now I'm considering to a folder...

i have a really chunky folder this year and a big bag. next year i am going to get a little bag and the chunky folder ( so the folder is the main thing) and in my bag i just put lunch an di will carrry textbooks

I carry one big folder to school everyday. After the topic is finished, I just transfer my notes into other folders at home. I really dislike organising my notes in folders, so I'm going to try and get a filing cabinet in order to be organised for year 12.

Well I mix books with a folder. It's too annoying just having a gaint folder for all my subjects, and it gets too fat. So decided to use exercise books for most subjects but have a folder for physics and religion.

... Now that i think of it, I dont think I had much logic when I decided to use this system.

Introducing the Integrated Filing System

I use one executive organiser folder to take to school lol i love the name of that it's just like a tudor folder with subdivisions i organise my sheets of paper into the different subdivisions, at the end of the week i write revision notes and as i do that i put my sheets into subject envelopes which go into my filing system like a filing cabinet then when exams come i have consise notes and everything is also organised in the filing cabinet type thing... it works really well and lots of handouts aren't a problem, just put the date on everypage u use in case you get them mixed up at some stage.

true, i always get told off by my modern teacher because i don't stick the sheets in my book....


Nowadays, i just take some blank lined paper and the sheets i presume we're using for the subjects to school.

What i did was have a one folder for every subject at home and take one folder to school...and in that folder you would have dividers which seperates each subject....

And at the end of every week, just take all the notes from each subject and put them back into their subject folder at home...
It's not only confusing to have 6 or 7 folders in your bag...but you'll also look kinda silly don't you think....
But my advice is...if you're not very organised...don't use loose leaf for your notes....use a book

I used one of the folders with the elastic things on the side...? I put my sheets in that, and I also had a notebook. So wrote notes and then had the sheets in there...also had files to file old crap in.

I just have books, then just shove them in my bag when I'm done. (Except for English, where you have to hand in lots of things)

Apparently the 'trendy thing' to do at our school is to carry this bricky folder with everything in it...binder books, looseleaf paper, sheets, plastic sleeves etc...and people stick photos and magazine cut-outs on the folder. I tried that once but carrying the folder around is both a big hassle and a big pain.

Next term I'm just going to get one thin ring folder for chem and bio, one thing ring folder for English (the folder is just 1cm thick and you can insert looseleaf paper and plastic sleeves into it) a grid book for maths, and a display book for Chinese =D

i like the home organisation, however, taking about 5or6 different folders to school can be a hassle as i already do that. i think the problem with me is that i cant manage so many folders all at once! heehehe
