A satellite is in orbit 250 km above the surface of the Earth. The Earth has a diameter of 12756 km. The satellite takes 89.6 minutes to complete one rotation.

( a ) Calculate the period of the orbit for a sattelite at an altitude of 500 km.

( b ) Calculate the altitude of a third satellite that has a period of 20 hours...

I think i'd be able to do the second if i found out how to do the first...

if anyone could post up the method of calculation.. it would be greatly appreciated instead of an actual answer...

once again all help is greatly appreciated... (except omelet sites... like those of pull up)
