Evolution of prgramming languages

Anyone else who did this find it really hard?

I mean the section where you had to add extra code.

I was totally WTF!?!?!?!?

All the other evolution questions i did in past papers were quite easy to identify and re-write code but this one was WTF.

:(

I think i'd get about 65-75/100

Damn algorithms :(

yeah i have to agree, the sample of code didnt show us how to add stuff to the database (as far as i could tell) and there was too much on functional languages, my book only has like a paragraph or two, so i was screwed

I had no idea what assert meant, so I made something else up :)

I found the whole evolution part really difficult. Damn you, paradigms!

I found it hard as well that bit with the writing an algorithm from that extract of a language...

I said the language was OOP

the class

the attributes and methods were together

ie. the go and list were together and ended together.. there since OOP has encapsulation.... that made me think it was OOP

I thought was logic but then when I looked at it there weren't any facts and rules...... and then OOP looked fine coz of the class and attirbutes things

I said it was logical, it had a predicent and atoms and had a knowledge base which it referred to. Ooo I hope it was logical. Other than that and Hexadecimal, it was easier than I expected

meh!
i had logic too, the assert(countries(Australia)
was fact,
the country(x), capital ( x Y)
was the rules

ok how about a(i)?
was anyone else not able to give an example fragment of code for functional paradigm?
for procedure i just did something along the lines of:
BEGIN
INPUT A
INPUT B
C=A+B
PRINT C
END
and said that this demonstrated the sequencial nature of imperative languages...

this is the only question in the test that really threw me - i had trouble coming up with a definition that sounded good.
