Orbital energy, elliptical orbits- perigee, apogee... (1 Viewer)

So in the Jacaranda physics hsc book, there is this section on calculating orbital energy and a few equations for elliptical orbit. However, I can't find any of this stuff in the physics syllabus, so should I not worry about it? Have any of you past physics students seen any hsc questions on this section? Non of these formulas are in the formula sheet either.

Just need to worry about circular orbits for the module Space. Not sure about the option Astrophysics though.

I don't find the Astrophysics option has perigee or apogee. Even in university, I just touch base on it in the second year mechanics.

nah, no need to know about apogee or perigree..it was confusing for me at first but it was a relief that it wasnt needed
