Hi, i have a question on orthodox writing. right now i write much like a textbook - i even put in some of the explanations in a textbook. i was wondering whether in uni you guys use alot of words and explanations? or is it simply equations numbers and pronumerals?

Also i would like to know whether you guys use dy/dx at uni or y'?
Plus when finding normals should i say m1m2=-1 or simply -dx/dy=blahblah.

Thanks guys.

whatever you think is appropriate.

I think the rule of thumb is that it should read like a sentence if you replace the symbols by words.

Nobody is going to ever look at your notebooks, so write however you like best.

Hell, you could draw cartoons on the middle of your equations of you wanted to.
