hi im currently in yr9 so unfortunately i cant continue this chain but i was just wondering, do schools force students with english as their second language to do EALD? Like if someone has English as their second language but is fluent and gets decent marks can they do standard, advanced or extension?

No, as far as I'm aware, you can't be forced to take EAL/D instead of English Standard (or higher), particularly if you are fluent in the English language. I took English Standard as a student who was meant to take EAL/D, and English is not my native language :)
