Ah, $16 seems a bit harsh, but maybe they're getting Nazi on you because of exams and other people might be needing the books?

$1 per day seems decent enough when I think about it though.

what you do is that you put away $16 in an investment fund or a shares portfolio and simply pay them back with the interest you have earnt!

i had overdue books last yr. i think about 4 of them. they were a couple of days overdue, but i never got any fines issued to me.

1. Yes, of course it does. Otherwise, what's the point in returning a book after 1 day when you could keep it for 1000001, hmm?

2. Yes, of course you do. Why would they have fines otherwise?

guess thats a good lesson learned.. return your books on time :p
how could you not though.. they like email you a couple of days before it's due and you can even renew it online if you arent bothered going to return it

Hmmm... so you actually have to get a letter telling you you're overdue? Coz I had a book overdue by a day this year, but they didnt send me any letter from memory... Might go ask at the student cashier: I want to finish this term!

Haha, you can check on the catalogue search site, borrower info or login or something, and you can see if any fines have been racked up

Well then you got the fine for not figuring out the "Email forward" function, rather than forgetting to return the book.

I think like, ages ago someone was sayin they couldn't access exam results because they had like an ourstanding one dollar fine, so it might be in your best interests to pay.
