Why exactly is ozone more reactive than oxygen? I understand that it's because the coordinate covalent bond in the ozone is less stable, but why? I mean..if you think about it...doesnt ozone basically have a triple bond - a double and a single. Whereas oxygen only has a double bond. So why than does ozone lose an oxygen atom more readily?

single bond in ozone is easier to break than the double bond in oxygen... hence rendering it more reactive
