Paper 2 - Modules (1 Viewer)

Hey guys tomorrow I've got paper 2 and Im having trouble finding related texts.

I need two texts that relate to "The Club" (dialogue);
+ one more text that relates to Bruce Dawe's poetry (consumerism) - Im already doing Fight Club.

Any suggestions on what texts to use would be great!

The techniques would include:

Register - appropriate style of language to suit the audience and context.

Devices - eg cliche, colloquial languauge, irony, jargon, sarcasm, slang, tone of voice.

Verbal & non-verbal signs - volume, pace, pauses in speech, stance of character, eye contact, gestures, facial expressions.

etc etc etc

I'm just doing a couple of newspaper articles that our teacher for consumerism

I you go to http://www.hsc.csu.edu.au/english/standard/texts_and_society/consumerism there might be some stuff you can use

For Bruce Dawe's poetry do we have to talk about ALL 6 poems or just 1 or 2? Im pretty sure its all 6 but im just making sure..

Hehe Blake you say that as if the exam markers will penalise me for using an "illegal" text in my essay because it is R18+ and im not 18, they're gonna track me down and find my date of birth!!

-I'm gonna have to be a fugitive for the rest of my life...

In our esssay for bruce dawe how many poems do we have to talk about??

All six apparently: if u look at all the past papers they always list all six poems.

i dont think you will have to refer to all six, maybe two or three, but you should learn all six because it depends which one will relate to the question the best.....

it lists all 6 poems, but as if you would have to write about them all.. they have to list them all so that it jogs ur memory on which ones u focused more in class... it would be at some students disadvantage if they only said --->

the following texts are the ones you will have to use in your essay
*breakthrough
*televistas
*abandonment of autos

because then some students will find that they didnt focus on these in class and will be unable to do their best. They have to list all of them so all students get an equal chance.
