does the persona undertake an imaginative journey imagining death? if so thats an awesome related text...and a major technique u cud discuss is the extended metaphor...anotha text u can look at is Ambrose Bierce's "An Occurance at owl Creek Bridge" (just google it and ull find it)

Hmm Budz, what you've described is somewhat abstract. Is this poem NARRATING the "journey" between life and death, or is it narrating a character's reflection of the "journey" between life and death. You can only really use it as a related text if the latter applies (otherwise it would be more suitable to Inner Journeys).

The poem which Supra offered as an alternative is quite different from what you described, but it is quite effective in communicating the role of imaginative journeys.

Eg. You could talk about how the main character uses imaginative journey as a means of escape, or how it allowed him to reflect on his life, and realize just how wonderful it was.
