parramatta = have to be one of the premiership favourites finally. go the mighty, mighty eels
dragons = pretenders, fault under pressure, read thier own press resulting in arrogance etc. phil gould you have been proven wrong
Hey mate.

Thanks for your insightful comments.

Parramatta have been considered one of the competition heavyweights for almost six weeks now. It's Manly and Cronulla who've been doubted, and they showed they are pretenders tonight by losing to third last and second last respectively.

St George Illawarra are not pretenders, no matter how much you hate them (referring to your post about most hated club from a couple of weeks ago).

Give US the home match, give us a full-strength squad, and take away Tim Smith, Ben Smith (or Timana Tahu, your choice) and Wade McKinnon from the match.

Then give US the refereeing calls that you guys got.

Good luck trying to contain us to less than 40 as well.

Yea fuken manly is shithouse!! cost me $15 against penrith. No way manly are genuine contenders with the there last performance. They couldnt capitalise on penriths massive mistakes in 2nd half. Fuck u Manly!!!!!!

ooooo someone is a little cut that their team had a disasterous loss on friday to a far superior rugby league side. this st george side continue to show that they cant live up to their billing with a team many think on paper are unstoppable. they lose a game or two and their confidence slides. they put together some great football and blow it by playing appaling football in the same game. keep shifting the blame mate 'full strength squad' phh whatever thats the sign of a lack of depth if you blame a loss on that. parra are a team that have skill across the park and your comments about taking a few players away from the game and it would have been different are absurd. what about dean widders, eric groathe and hindmarsh, morris and morrison who played excellent footy on friday? all you st geoge supporters are the same. blame everyone but your team.

So true, the comment about taking away a couple of parra players was silly, beating a team without all its players doesn't show much, you have to be able to beat FULL-STRENGTH sides in order to go far in the finals. And what ref calls exactly are you talking about? Barrett is a cat and I did not see anything illegal in marsh's tackle on him (he nudged his chin, boo hoo have a cry, he didn't get hurt) and the try by mckinnon was legit. As ChrisE said, you're just cut cos the dragons got smashed :D

Yes PJs flyin forearm was pretty danagerous, but it was not intentional bcoz he closed his eyes while he we jumpin through the air to stop the kick from barret. Also, it hit him in the chest, up to the throat MAX. U think about, if PJ got him on the chin, no man on this earth would hav got up straight away n dog shot PJ. The Bloke would hav been KO on the floor, in Candy land bcoz PJ was runnin at him lik 50km/hr.

Even if you take away the following players

Hindmarsh
Cayless
Growthe
McKinnon
Tahu (crapest player on our roster)
Tim Smith

We would still kick the dragons arse, look at our replacements

Cayless- Afamasanga (Parra rookie of the year 2004)
Hindmarsh- Henry Perenara (Has played 3 tests for NZ)
Growthe-John Williams (NSW origin rep for NSW residents on origin night)
McKinnon- Luke Burt (Faster than Gasnier and with more skill)
Tahu- Luke O Dwyer
Tim Smith- Marcus Perenara (Junior Kiwi)

Remember we scored 50 against the cowboys when they were 2nd on the ladder and we were 10th without Growthe, Tahu or Stringer, so a victory against the most over rated team in the comp without these six would be a walk in the park.

Go the mighty Eels

im sick of all these people saying were going to be screwed without tim smith, even if we dont have him in our team we got other players that can replace him, that plus all the other great players we have in our squad.

PJ's CHARGE DOWN did hit his chest and went up to his chin, and your right, if i hit you on the had no one would get up that fast to start a fight!

Well it's true. I was cut that we lost, because I thought we would show more spirit than what we did.

Half of what I said was made in the heat of the moment.

Blaming everyone but our own team is not true. I suggest you start reading the Jubilee Ave forums to find out just how many supporters actually never stop flaming the team.

The anomaly for the Dragons is that player-for-player, they are the best, but they simply aren't the best team. And if they aren't the best team, they won't win the Premiership. Simple.

Cityboy, your line about Burt being better than Gasnier... I don't know if you are just sticking up for your player or just not recognising the facts. Ask ANY left centre in the NRL and they'll tell you that the centre they hate marking most is Mark Gasnier.

Then, I start to think you may not be on the same planet as the rest of us when you say that Timana Tahu is the worst player on your roster. First off, it's not HIS fault that he isn't chosen as winger. While Grothe may well be in career-best form, Tahu is a better winger than him. However, politics does not deem it correct not to have Eric Grothe Jnr on the wing. I sometimes wonder why Tahu isn't on the left wing instead of Petersen.

And incidentally, Eric Grothe was horribly shown up by Colin Best on Friday. Perhaps everyone wants to flame Best because every Parramatta try came down his side, but almost every single one was directly the fault of Chris Sheppard. I guess that in his first game, though, he can't be expected to understand how the defensive line of another club works.
