How easy is it to attain this

Pass average is easily attained, just ensure that you pass everything. Keep up to date with work, hand in assignments and take on advice.

Credit will require more work, a higher level of standard. More engagement with readings and aim higher.

If you do the bare minimum that is required, then a pass average is very easy to get. Each grand will require you do do much more work and put in much more effort.
What each grand? Am i missing something here

As has been said, obviously better marks are harder to get, or require more work and effort. A credit average should not be that hard to attain if you strive to do a little more than the bare minimum. As the semester and year progresses you will come to know what sort of things you are expected to do to score well, and with practice you should be able improve. It's definitely not hard to pass if you hand in your assignments, properly attempt them and attend the required percentage of tutorials. Even distinctions and things like that aren't out of reach...you'll find that you'll probably have a range of marks which with some luck might push you up into the credit average bracket. :)

you should know jacks! ;) lol

also, to know what mark you need in the finals, its best to see what your mark is in your other assesments and their percentages, then you add them up.
i had some people in my maths class last year who were crap at it, and so they asked the lecturer what the minimum they would need to pass the whole unit. As you should know, passing the final does not mean passing hte unit, your exam is only psrt of your total assesments.
