Past HSC Papers - No answers?!?!! (1 Viewer)

Why oh Why does the Board of studies not put up answers to their past HSC papers? Their presence is otherwise completely useless!!!!

Not really. You could just ask people what the answers are. And sometimes, people upload the questions, but don't have access to the answers.

I know there is always a way to find the answer, but I have to question the common sense in putting out 'markers comments' which for the most part are 'a good response demonstrated good undertstanding' - and leaves it at that.

It would be a good idea for the Board to put in a 'sample answer', which I'm sure they would have lined up somewhere....

But then people question why they got a certain mark and teachers winge and dispute whether that 'sample answer' was actually deserving of full marks. Leaving it relatively ambiguous gives the Board of Studies some sort of soveriegnty in the marking process.

They don't publish answers as it would be subjective and leave them open to criticism/queries.
