Hi.

Now that the Trials are over (for most people) and the HSC is fast approaching, I'm just curious as to how much past papers you guys have completed before the Year 12 HSC Trials and how many you aim to complete before the HSC itself.

For me, before the Year 12 HSC Trials, I completed:
- English (Advanced)- 0 papers :(
- Mathematics Extension 1- 10 papers
- Mathematics Extension 2- 10 papers
- Chemistry- 1 paper
- Physics- 3 papers

For me, by the HSC, I aim to complete:
- English (Advanced)- 5 papers :(
- Mathematics Extension 1- 20 papers
- Mathematics Extension 2- 20 papers
- Chemistry- 10 papers
- Physics- 10 papers

Do you guys think this is enough? How many have you guys completed and how many are you aiming for?

Thank you.

For me, before the Year 12 HSC Trials, I completed:
- English- 1 paper (none for paper 2, just paper 1), mostly just prepared essays in non-exam conditions
- Mathematics Extension 1- 6 papers
- Mathematics Extension 2- 1 paper
- Chemistry- 0 papers
- Physics- 5 papers (still messed up :( )
- Economics- 0 papers

For me, by the HSC, I aim to complete:
- English- 6 papers =S (1 and 2)
- Mathematics Extension 1- 15 papers
- Mathematics Extension 2- 15 papers <-- not sure if that's realistic considering my struggles in that subject..
- Chemistry- 10 papers
- Physics- 10 papers
- Economics- 4 papers

Oh btw :p, we almost do the same subjects

I think I messed up from lack of time management and not doing enough questions : (

What are your goals?

Also question regarding english: should people practice using trial exams due to copyright issues of the actual HSC paper?

Btw, interesting thread haha. When HSC comes we should give a rough tally of how many we actually did xD

My goals are to get Extension 4 or Band 6 for Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. I want a Band 6 for English as well, but this is really unrealistic. I know for sure that I'll probably get Band 5 if I'm lucky. I barely try in English. It's my most hated subject.

For English, I think it's fine doing actual HSC past papers because the essay questions are all there, I think. It's just the reading task that has things awaiting copyright.

By the HSC, I'll probably be finished with half of what I intended to do. LOL.

Seeing this makes me feel a lot better. I thought that most people have completed way more past papers than me.

There isn't some magic number just do as many as you can up until the HSC without burning yourself out. It's also important not just to do them but correct them and practice bits you struggled on or didn't do as well as you wanted.

I haven't done any full past papers, not sure if I even plan to.

I did about 3 last year when I did 2U though.

Just wondering, are you guys completing the past papers under strict exam conditions?

I didn't do any for trials, but I'm gonna do as much as possible before the HSC. Starting from however long it takes me to strict conditions the closer it come to HSC.
