Hi I wan wondering if anyone knows how employers calculate tax based on Pay As You Go (PAYG) withhold using a Fortnightly tax table. (NAT 1006-05.2005)

And im also curious about the legal right to payment summary.
Can I ask for a payment summary at the termination of my job? Do I have to provide any written document just to request it? What are the rules to this?

thanx!

AFAIK employers use the Tax Witheld Calculator (which is availible free on the ATO website www.ato.gov.au)

Employers MUST provide you with a payment summary, however, i dont think they necescarily have to provide it on the termination of employment, but rather at some time after the end of the financial year (june 30, for reference, a massive company like woolies takes about 15 days from June 30 to get their payment summaries ready for collection)
