Hi
Just wondering...

Is PDHPE considered a science subject?

Im considering studying nursing at uni.. and the prerequisites are:
2units of english, any 2units of maths, and any 2 units of science..

i do: std english, general maths, food tech, hospitality, and pdhpe...
kinda screwed up with my subject selections...but hey what can u do..

so... i got maths and english covered....but not so sure whether i can count pdhpe as a science subject or not..

any help would be greeeeeatly appreciated.
thanks.xx

I think they mean physics, chemistry ,biology or senior science.

But I thought there's no formal prerequisites, only assumed knowledge

Nope PDHPE isnt a science. But you get the opportunity to do a bridging course in Uni to cover it. And dw my subject choices were all over the place- as long as you enjoy your subs and can do well in them you're sailing.

Yeah i might've got a little mixed up with the assumed knowledge & the recommended studies. But yeah do you think ill need a science subject/bridging course for nursing/midwifery?

Although PDHPE is not considered a science, there are unis that actually prefer you to have PDHPE instead of a science. From memory thats Charles Sturt, and one of the WA unis. But there is probably more 'cos i never was interested in nursing, i came across these through friends.
ask your careers advsior (if u have one). If not, or if u dont get a great reply (i dunno bout evryone elses, but i found more off the actual unis than the advisors) check out their booklets they send out each yr, still not happy ill find u some :p (my dads an slo...)
