So I've been rostered on to work on the morning of Australia Day (next Saturday)...I was just wondering if the (2.5x or whatever) public holiday penalty rate if I work then? Or would it only apply if I worked the Monday after since that would technically be the *real* public holiday? If it helps I'm at Woolworths.

Thanks :)

From my experience, I got normal pay on the weekends, then penalty on the Monday which is the actual holiday.

You'd only get it for Monday public holiday because that is the holiday people get

21.10.1 Work done on any public holiday prescribed in subclause 21.1 & 21.2 by a weekly employee shall be paid at the rate of 250% with a minimum payment of 3 hours work.

I hope I'm working on Monday too!

if I had 250% all weekend it would be more than awesome..

Since I'm working 9hrs for Sat, Sun & Mon =]

But i'm happy with 9hrs on Monday.
