Yay for thinking that I had to go to sleep last night. I still don't agree with the idea of a thread requiring a news article in order for it to be 'forum worthy' ('the thread must be of substance in a hard news, politics and current affairs sense' would be a better, if far more subjective, phrase), and I also don't agree with the idea of an 'unbiased' mod being the better option for this particular subforum, as that way we are largely unable to determine whether a thread would be at risk of the 'at our discretion' statement. That isn't to say that we would expect a mod to abuse their power, rather that we would be aware as to what they consider a worthy, yet questionable under the new guidelines, thread to be. Calculon has a good point regarding entertainment news, too.
However, I'm sure that katie's point will ring true, so I guess that there is no real need to worry. To tell the truth, the only real issue that I have with this forum is that some members (we all know who they are) always seem to ruin threads in their quest to swear other forum members of the board. The only form of moderation that this forum needs is for someone with power to warn such users that their conduct must improve if they wish to continue to participate in the debates (using the term participate loosely).
