I am so lost for my English Ext 2 project and my Society Project (I do 2u Ancient History, and I can hardly cope with that, so I wouldn't even think about doing extension). We don't even have a bloody teacher for Ext English yet! Class hasn't been put together or anything. Bloody hopeless.

These are off a sheet we were given at the beginning of ext hist to help us decide areas we wanted to investigate (remember the better projects look at issues of historiography within the chosen area, not just fact alone):

Changi, the mini series
Joan of Arc, myth, history?
Catherine d Medici
Robin Hood, myth, history?
Conversion of Constantine
KKK and segregation in America
Impact of 4 assassinations on American Society in 1960s
The "Kennedy Curse" and its impact
Comparison of Princess Diana and Mother Teresa
Grecian Sun Goddesses
Impact of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on Japanese Society
Changing interpretations of Elizabeth I through film
A postmodern evaluation of Columbus
Occupation of France by Germans in WWII
Comfort Women enslaved by Japanese army in WWII
Salem Witch Hunts: Historians and Miller's 'The Crucuble'
King Arthur, myth, history?
Evita! myth, history, musical
The Dracula legend
William Wallace, myth, history?
Bush icon to surfer icon in Australian history and society
Problems encountered when we rely on European accounts of history
Empress Theodora
Pope Alexander IV
Interpretations of the Krushchev period
Richard III: Shakespeare and other accounts
Theories about the disappearance of the Mayans
Stonehenge: clock, calender, shrine, temple, observatory?
The Atlantis Legend and underwater archaeology
The Roswell incident 1948 and the 'cover up'
Easter Island statues: the theories
The Fisher's Ghost legend in 19th Century Australia
Cleopatra

with the hisotry one - its a study of the historians not the people isn't it... I was thinking about doing death of Kenedy cause i find that very interesting... But my teacher thinks its better to do anicent events as they have more historical evidence on them...
I think history will end up being my hardest one to pick.

No probs :)

What you are looking at is an historical debate or different interpretations of events through different schools of historiography. Or you could look at an historiographical school on its own and explore how it has impacted the study of history.

I looked at revisionism and its legitimacy as a school of historiography (and comparing it with 'holocaust revisionism' which is not a valid historical approach in itself).
