However, the content can be heavy at times, so the thing is you need to learn to manage your time effectively and learn independently. But you need to do this for any degree, not just medicine tbh

First year is fairly science heavy so far, so if you enjoy science, you should be happy :)

Hey mirakon, since I'm yet to start graduate med, is the course really that much science based? Beyond the fundamental sciences, I've heard it's a lot more skewed towards readings/reports/artsy-information stuff than one might expect.

I don't think grad med at USyd would have a lot of science at the start because students already learned that stuff in the science (or whatever) degree they did beforehand.

Interesting point, but a lot of people entering the grad. medicine program at Usyd hail from fields outside science (i.e. eco, commerce, music, law, etc). So there will definitely be a full sciences block at the start, but I was more curious about the later years of the course, after the fundamentals unit.

I'd imagine that there would definitely be Science for grad med, but due to the GAMSAT, a lot of the Science content of an undergraduate medicine degree wouldn't be there.

Yeah, that's my point. You need to know first year science to do GAMSAT to get into postgrad MBBS (well, most people need to sit GAMSAT).
