um, no.
it can, when you first get the lip pierced, and it swells, it can kinda hurt to take bites of large sandwichies/burgers/etc, but anything off a fork it ok.
and it can be a tad odd drinking from bottles, as lip is swollen to one side and drink tends to drool out a bit.

but yeah, i say go for it. its only a large 12-14g needle piercings through your lip to leave a hole in which a, hopefully, surgical steel bar (or ring, if youre gay) would be inside.
and if you dont like it, you can take it out.

i recently got my lip done a second time. on the left side again. as snakebites are quite overdone and overrated. but i might get snakebites now, like, one stud on the right, and two on the left.
