This is a thread dedicated to the appreciation of amazing voices. Regardless of whether they're actually "singers" in the profession, list them please? I'd like a good listen

Alicia Keys

Joss Stone

John Mayer - Unique husky, sexy voice there.

Jamie Cullum - smooth jazz voice. probably not unique, but boy it's been a while since that kinda voice was mainstream.... or close to anyway! It's strong, and it swings, therefore I like.

That little girl from Love Actually - Olivia Olson... how beautiful!!!

Zooey Deschanel - she's the girl from "ELF" the movie, she sings in a very 1920's, christmas style... very amazing.

Too bad these girls from movies don't actually get hit with a singing contract... even though most make an impact in the cinema, esp that Love Actually one I mentioned.

Fergie from Black Eyes Peas was an eye/ear opener when she first appeared...

A girl called courtney at our school had the most beautiful voice i ever heard from someone my age... except her rhythm sucks like all hell, so she'd sing too fast or too slow....

Anyways, who else has a voice that's so amazing it made you silent in awe while listening to it?

I would say most of the successful bands' lead singer has a unique voice, otherwise they wouldn't be so successful.

I agree that Chrissie Hynde has a terrific voice. Big Pretenders fan.

I'd say of women I love Dusty Springfield's voice. With men, I think Roy Orbison and Freddie Mercury were both brilliant.

Im surprised at all of you, every single one of you forgot Freddie Mercury, Queens lead singer. Honourable Mention also goes to Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin, he goes well too.
Err...Jimmy Page ... for singing?!?! What the fuck....
