Let me get straight to the point, I hate perms and combs. Tbh I hate combinatorics in general. I had a test today and ngl I probably failed. This topic seems like a complete waste of time but since it's already in the syllabus, can someone give me some tips to get better? As it's going to come back in year 12 and I don't want to be completely clueless. The textbooks don't help at all, their methods/overview of the chapter makes sense, but then their questions have nothing to do with either of them.
You don't need to worry about Permutation and Combinations. Even if you get around 70% in your exam its fine as it is one of the hardest extension topics. Obviously if you get below 50 to 40%, you should drop Extension, but I don't think anyone I've known has gotten that low. People who do Maths Extension are talented at maths and are great problem solvers, so if you can't solve basic permutations and combinations hit me up cause you probably lack talent and skill in maths.
