And Bob Dylan and Joan Baez would work too.

Joan Baez has many songs about Mexican immigrants as part of her oeuvre.

A good movie would be Richard Flanagan's THE SOUND OF ONE HAND CLAPPING. It's very moving and atmospheric and shares thematic concerns with the Immigrant Chronicles. (read the book too!)

Lol, our teacher was like psycho on songs. She was like, stay away from it...unless you want me to give like a band 4 for your essay.

The main msg to convey to you guys doing AOS is that, if you're already doing Poems for the Journeys section, avoid doing something else as complex at it i.e. songs, because students can misinterpret the meanings conveyed...and lol as we all know how English is so damn subjective, you do not want to be open to subjective marks/comments.

Try having a look at the supplementary texts topic somewhere in the AOS section of Boredofstudies for a good list.

I've always found that 'The Passenger' - Iggy Pop is a good one to do.
