Youtube wasn't working for me the other day when this was posted. It's a great little video. It reminds me somewhat of a philosopher Thomas Nagel who wrote a book 'The View from Nowhere' in which he examines some of the incongruities between our self-centred, subjective perspective and a detached, 'pale blue dot' kind of perspective.

One of the questions is, of course, whether we can take a more detached perspective on society (which some would argue is a prerequisite for certain forms of justice/fairness) whilst also taking into account the subjective world that belongs to each individual (which seems necessary if we are to properly treat them each as persons).

I'm reading his novel Contact right now.
I've only read the first two chapters and I've already learnt stuff.
And it's fictional. lol.
