Youtube wasn't working for me the other day when this was posted. It's a great little video. It reminds me somewhat of a philosopher Thomas Nagel who wrote a book
'The View from Nowhere' in which he examines some of the incongruities between our self-centred, subjective perspective and a detached, 'pale blue dot' kind of perspective.
One of the questions is, of course, whether we can take a more detached perspective on society (which some would argue is a prerequisite for certain forms of justice/fairness) whilst also taking into account the subjective world that belongs to each individual (which seems necessary if we are to properly treat them each as persons).
