I was an admin on PHP before we moved to VB, and I do remember it was a bit difficult. Is it in their user profile?

I think he is taking about MODifications (not moderators).

Which MOD are you trying to install? Doesn't it say give instructions on what to do??

what kind of forum is it for?

The author of the mod (hack) usually provides instructions if not it probably just involves uploading and editing the cp to register the new file.

yeh go to the phpbb help forum, it's heaps useful
i hope you did a back-up, i once lost a few weeks of posts because i tried to put in a new MOD :uhoh:
yeh just make sure you read through the instructions carefully, it could potentially save you A LOT of trouble.

i've put in the attachment MOD before.. it's just a lot of copy and pasting isn't it? they're the worst cos it's almost impossible to figure out what you did wrong.

NO! Don't use PHPBB, unless you want your forum looking like 6,239,653,402 other ones out there. It just has a decent look and it's functional - other than that, it's utter cloned crap.

Just write up your own forum code - it's not hard at all. You can make one that looks much better, and with tonnes more features.

Or, you could just download/create a different style.
