You were supposed to take the log of both sides, then plot one variable against another, I'm pretty sure.

OMG!! That paper was not easy! 01 to 06 was so much easier.

What do u need to get into the camps? I think i only got 40 or so out of 50.

BTW, MCQ was trivial, Q11 & Q14 was easy, Q12 was too obscure, too many answers and Q13 doable but very lond and variable answers.

I think I should mention that u only need 28 to get an HD but to get to the camp takes so much more. Possibly 40+. I'm not sure?
Got HD in 06 and 05 with scores of like 29 and 32 but nowhere near the camps.

Haha oh yeah I was gonna say something but then forgot about it.

Rant:

That exam was CRAP. I was prepared for it. I could've owned a decent exam. But because it was doable it wouldn't have taken much skill/knowledge to do it, and now my chances of getting in the camp go down. Heaps.

Anyway I didn't do the tea question and the experiment (cos I hate error margins ). I had the log relation for the tea but the negative gradient threw me off and I didn't try plotting it for long enough to get a straight line and gave up.

The thing was so essay-y. It's good I suppose because you'd want people who can understand concepts you want people who can actually do the maths too. :(

And just about all the multichoice were trick questions. Good. Throws off all the formula-plugging kids. Still, only ten marks.

EDIT: Marks aren't released, far as I know, but people estimate. Results were out about mid November last year, by old blogs, and camp invites several weeks before that.

No they don't release marks but 3 or 4 of the teachers at my school are involved in the camps so some of the teacher's pets can find out.

Newton's Law of Cooling. HSC Extension 1 Math students do a bit of that.
