Hi guys!!

Ive got an assesment coming up on The world Communicates..

They say that u can bring notes on the following dot points...
- outline how the modulation of
amplitude or frequency of visible
light, microwaves and/or radio waves
can be used to transmit information

-discuss problems produced by the
limited range of the electromagnetic
spectrum available for communication
purposes

-analyse information to identify the
electromagnetic spectrum range
utilised in modern communication
technologies

I kinda know what to write for the the first 2 points...but i dont know the 3 point...does anyone know what its about?...

Thanks

what parts of EMR are used in communication technology

sucha s radios use radio waves - FM and AM

W e dont use Gamma or X rays cause they would kill us

etc.. im sure youll find plenty of info, just wikipedia each of the parts of the EM Spectrum and it should have a part devoted to uses and stuff

Fibre optics uses visible light.
Mobile Phones/AM/FM Radios use radio waves to transmit and receive information.
Microwave radiation isn't just used for food it is also a medium for rural regions, known as satellite internet.

I hate my Physics teaches because he makes the questions nothing like the HSC style questions and they are literally ALL skill questions... -_- he occasionally shoves in one or two explain why for a seatbelt/airbag or satellite question...

>.< He frustrates me.

Point is, the least dot point is about using given information (or determining it) to solve an example 'skills' questions.

I think you can use either one of them, as long as they are in the EM spectrum and you use more than one type of waves. ie a range of waves
Say decrease in frequency/ increase in wavelength:
Gamma rays, X-rays, U-V, visible light, infra-red, microwaves, radio waves.
