doctors are only expensive because there is a shortage because there is a cartel which stops people from other countries practising here. Not talking about aids countries either, places like Canada or Britain.

Not to mention the deliberate limitation of the number of places for Australian trained doctors and surgeons. Most things done by a GP could easily be done by a nurse or pharmacist for less. But doctors have got a great racket going where they do easy work for high pay. Its a joke. If we really wanted to help poor people we would deregulate the whole healthcare system.

nah nt rly. i've been to four doctors, three in camden and on not (student doctor at uni). one of them was private, and i didnt notice a difference in waiting times.
