Page 5 of the Sunday Telegraph, people are wrapping their suitcases in plastic when going to Bali so people can't put drugs in them. I thought it was pretty funny, but then again its pretty bad when people need to do that to stop people putting drugs in their bags or stealing their camel suits. I'm going to Bali in June and I'm going to be getting some zipties for my suitcase.

hah, thats pretty bad...but then i would be paranoid too. i'd probably try to superglue and tape my case shut out of anxiety - and then kick myself when i cant get it open.

The cable ties are a good idea. I used them for my trip last year.

the funny part is when u go to the USA you can't lock ur suitcase

When we were in Bali, one of our bags ended up with a split seam. We wrapped it in plastic, which makes an ordinary bag look like a dead body and results in it being searched at customs. I laugh at people who do this.
A bag lock or cable ties should be sufficient. If anyone's planting drugs, they're looking for an easy target, so there's no need to go to extremes.
And anyone really concerned about drug planting should skip Bali and go to Vietnam instead. It's nicer anyway.

after what happened to schapelle corby, can you really blame them? i'm totally putting locks on my bags when i go to thailand .. death by firing squad isn't really my idea of a tropical holiday kthx.
