What is the technique called when in Playing the Ego Card when Brian first declines to Mike's request to go ti Boganville. Then after the Board said they want him to go he still rejects mike untill finally being "convinced". he actually wanted mike to go.

This may sound really dumb but as far as I know I think the scene your talking about is designed to show how where hear the truth we want to hear -- we don't question what anyone says as long as it suits us and builds our "ego". This adds to Brian's characterisation of how truth is conveyed in the media and the media's manipulation.

But you're probly right about there being a technique. I'm curious now too.
