Does anyone know the difference between polar and non-polar molecules?

I know the difference between polar and non-polar covalent bonds but not polar and non-polar molecules - or is that what the question means?

Anyway there is no definition in my text book and I hate resorting to internet sites.

One end of the polar molecule is slightly charged compared to the other, in non-polar molecules no part of the molecule is more chanrged then the others.

What he said.

But also, just because a molecule contains polar bonds does not make it a polar molecule. Say for example in BF.3 the bonds are polar, yet the arrangement of the F atoms creates a net attraction of zero.

So basically, polar molecules contain polar bonds in an arrangement that produces a net charge on the molecule.
