So often when browsing profiles on here, the answer to "political views" is "N/A".

WTF? How is that "not applicable"?!?! Everyone should have a political view, and if they don't, they should go read some bloody newspaper!

Thoughts?

Facts about average people and politics:
  1. Some people don't care!
  2. Some people are too dumb to understand (look at numbers of Donkey votes for first two points).
  3. Some people have a view but are afraid or whatever to voice it.
  4. Some people don't share their views on politics for fear of reprisals etc (for example communist/national socialist views in modern Western Society)
I personally don't like telling people my political views because of the fact that it may infuence others or influence their behaviour to me. (and no i'm not a radical).

Re: N/a?!?!

Those points are valid, but if people are going to treat me differently because of my political views I'd rather not be friends with them in the first place.

Re: N/a?!?!

But I do get what you're saying.

I guess what I'm saying is I think it would be better if there were options such as "unsure" or "withheld" because "N/A" makes people sound so ignorant or something.

Well unfortunately we live in the real world, this hapens so learn to deal with it.

Haha. This reminds me of the time when my entire English class got into a political debate over the next Federal election. Our female school captain wants to be the first female PM and she supports Labor, and i pwned her, every point she came up with I beat down. I just like arguing.

That would require a coding change, but it shouldn't be too hard....

2 things you learn while you grow up.

Don't discuss politics and
Don't discuss religion.

Simple as that. =P

Re: N/a?!?!

Some of us people are so goddamn cynical about batshit politicos, that we simply do not care anymore.
