hi,
In the past few weeks pop-up adds seemed to have gotten so much worse on my computer for some unknown reason...they are always annoying the hell outta me...

Is there anywhere you can get a free, good pop-up stopper or killer that will get rid of them once and for all...and ones they might have possibly installed themselves on my computer, coz i think thats what some do so they dont die when you close the window...

Cheers,
PR

http://toolbar.google.com

I use the Google Toolbar, it blocks all popups unless I allow it.

Or if you would prefer, you can use Mozilla Browser or FireBird, which has built-in pop-up blocking support.

Google toolbar = good stuff ;)

Saves visiting google.com (or .au) and lets you search the web quickly and easily. You can enable and disable popups on every unique website.

One useful function that I like to use is to enter keywords into your google toolbar, and hit the highlighting tool.

This will highlight your search criteria on the page - one of the best features next to popup blocking IMO :)

Highlight is the best thing yet I'd say. You can use it to sweep a web page and determine whether it has the information you need. Excellent for HSC notes! :D

Hrm, if your after an intelligent popup killer, try:
Antipopup for IE

This is the best i've found. Its smart as hell, only blocks adds, and blocks ALL popups i've found. Use this in conjunction with Proxomitron (not for the un-leet :p ) to get rid of annoying advertisements as well as popups.
