during a test .. when you memorise exact sentences, quotes, paragrahps and use them to asnwer short/extended responses is that still called plagerising???

i always thought it was different ... this came up coz i have a physics exam coming up and we have to hand in our notes. my notes .. are like direct sentences summarised from this book. as long as i write bibliography its not plagerism right?

but still ... is it possible to even plagerise in a test?? apart from copying stories ... more like information (maths/physics/economics/legal etc)

not that im implying anything ... ok the title sounds a bit off =="

If you memorise or reproduce information from other sources and claim it to be yours that is considered plagiarising. Peronsally, I think anything more than a paragraph of reproduced information that is NOT acknowledged (i.e. given reference) is considered plagiarism.
- It's NOT plagiarism if you recall information that you have learnt
- It IS plagiarism if you reproduce information word for word without acknowledgements

in a physics test.
an extended responce asking for characteristics of various star groups.
i memorized a whole page from this physics text book and answer the question word for word from the book ... with out mentioning the text book.

Just remember key points and rewite them in your own words, devote the time that you spent memerising to other subjects.

2) I dont think the teacher will mark you as plagerising from your textbook. Firstly, i doubt the teacher memerised the book. Secondly, i doubt he can be bothered to check. However, to me it's still plagerising. You are using your textbook information and reproducing it under your name, hence your test.
