From 5/09/2015 I will be posting some invaluable notes on Harmony, Musical periods and almost everything you might need for Preliminary hsc music
I will be using these sources, also advise you to have a good look through them!
Harmonic Practice in Tonal music - Robert Gauldin
The oxford companion to music - Any edition will do.
& The internet!
Subjects I will most likely will cover
- Preliminary Subjects
Music 1600-1900 ( most forms of Baroque, Classical and 19th Century music)
for additional topics I will only cover:
medieval music
renaissance music
music 1900-1945
- Preliminary Aspects of music
I will cover
Pitch
Dynamics and expressive techniques
Tone colour ( honestly you really don't need this.)
Texture
Structure
HSC course:
Music of the last 25years ( Australian focus)
Additional topics (Medieval-1900-1945)
