I just wanted to know the meaning of that statement and how are poverty and inequality being driven by forces. Thanks.

Why is this so?

Poverty is a relative term. It cannot be defined in an absolute.

What i mean by absolute is that UN defines the minimum income to maintain survival is $1 a day. However, it is biased because of exchange rate, purchasing power parity and cost of living.

Inequality should be in a reflection of lorenz curve.
