Hi fellow DnT friends

How good it feels now aei?last week i was doing my folio, i didn'e sleep for 2 nights, and this weekend, i just chilled out!its awesome!!how's everyone go on the DnT HSC marking?has anyone know if they get nominated for powerhouse yet? because i found out i got one straight after the marking process from my teacher!i'm so happy now!!

i didn't get nominated for power house but i did for regional touring so i am so happy!!!​

Nah its bull crap, our school got marked on the 1st day and only one project made it when we expected at least 3. A school down the rd got 5 in and they all made dresses and stuff.

thats doesn't mean its crap - what you expect or assume doesnt necessary mean thats what is going to happen. "dresses and stuff" can still be major works.

i got nominated, i made a big tent for a ute tray, my folio was about 250 pages. alot of time and effort went into it so im really happy.

isn't the criteria you have to get a band 6 and it must be presentable


i got a nomination for power house and i was the only one in my school yay!

no mention of a power house or any other nomination. are they always given out after its marked? my school could be withholding ours because i reckon my friend could have gotten in.

yeah mine was given to me about 2 days after marking pretty much strait away!

i am going to try to patent mine before i sent it off as it is an innovation i want to make sure nobody copies it!!

i got nominated for designTECH! im so happy. i had to wait for the principal to come back to school after being in canberra so that he could personally give me the letter.

i made a website. my dnt teacher and an ipt teacher underwent like a 20min session with the markers lol. markers were asking a lot of questions apparently.

Yea I got my job marked yesterday (the last day of marking), and my teacher didn't tell me that my job got design tech until last period today. He just gave me a wired look all day. that bastard!!!

Made a swing seat/day bed, 2 folders, about 150 in one (the stuff I wrote - lots of text), 250 in the other (lots of research and sketches etc), two tables full of experimentation and a FULL WALL of pictures - construction/timeline.

hey yer i got nominated for powerhouse too! shit how many people actually get nominated cust it seems theres a lot on this post?? i dont know if they will accept min as its like a 300kg 10 seater solid timber table, but woth a try!! My folio was only like 170 pages, im pretty keen to top the state but, haha if the HSC goes allright, howd u guys go in trials? later

congrats everyone who got nominated... the forms are a bitch to fill out - cant they just look through our projects to get the whole aesthetics/functions/environments stuff... and how am i meant to put a price on a website - and how am i meant to fit a website into the envelope

hmm, i have to fill out the forms now that i remember lol

also jaimac - most of the posts in here are from the same couple of people so dont judge the number nominated on this thread

there is only me and other guy from my school got nominated, even though there are only 9 guys in my class!it's seem to be not that hard to get nominated suprisingly!i haven;t fill up the form yet, haven;'t even got it, maybe 2morrow! y is it annoying jirwin?hehehe...top the state, its going to be a pretty hard competition!

just the type of questions - motivation, challenges, and stuff is ok i guess but im sick of doing the aesthetics, function, environment stuff. and i can't think of anything good to write for half the sections either lol.

u have to send them away by the 19th which is next wednesday

im sending one plus my website on cd - nah only just finished filling out the forms today on a photocopy - now i have to transfer it onto the actual blue forms - they dont give u much space to write - i had to add extra lines.

my teacher was a bit pissed off - he was the one that taught me, gave me advice, helped me with my MDP and he was the last to know about the nomination (apart from me that is) i reckon it would of been better coming from him rather than the principal who knew nothing on my project in the first place. oh well. im handing my forms in tomorrow and so the school can send them away

I got Dt Nominated as well. Only one at my school. I think bout 150 ppl get nominated. And they take the a group that covers a wide array of areas ie not all tables or not all dresses but one table, one dress, one house bla bla bla. So to show all areas of what is done in HSC.
