powerplay visual representation (1 Viewer)

hey dudes and dudets, as part of my HSC my teacher has asked me to do a visual representation on power play using a text of my own choosing. I was wondering if anyone of u guys could assist me in coming up with an idea, Idea iv had so far;

Supersize me: show how the companys have power of the consumers etc.

as u can see im struggling a fair bit here so please feel free to contribute or elaborate upon my idea,

Cheers for the comment mr brigthside but its visual representation . For thoes of you who have seen this film (supersize me) how would you VISUALY show this power big industries have over the people. I was thinking of doing it by showing, corperates surpresing the public by controlling the government.

mby having the Justice scale icon, weighed down on one side by corperate logos with a key inside, which opends the door to a caged government. and obviously on the otherside have some symble representing the people.

Is this powerplay? im not exactly sure what power play is, we only just started it and now im on holidays so no teachers to bug.

Hey i have the same assessment =p....yeh im pretty stuck as well...i have to also have to deliver a speech while presenting the visual...maybe we go to the same skool

Hey there dude. Im somewhat confused, i take it your not actually supposed to 'create' a visual text, since this is English not art, so your supposed to find a visual text and deconstruct it???
If so, try finding a picture like 'Cleopatra's Feast' by Tiepolo, which is one I am using. Once you have the text, focus on visual techniques, such as foregrounding/backgrounding, colour, body language, elevation, scale, symbolism - and try to interpret how these represent powerplay.
Cleopatra's sweeping hand gesture in this particular text, for example, demonstrates her extravegance and despotism - she wields her power and influence to seduce and charm Antony by overwhelming him with the pleasures of Egypt. Incidentally, this air of celebration can be linked back to the numerous feasting scenes in the play, and the barge scene in which Cleo is portrayed as a seductress. etc..
