hey everyone!

ok so i have an essay to do about Bismarck and German unification!
What situations was he in control of and what events were beyond his control? also, overall was he a good leader? ive already done the essay but would like some more ideas

I really liked the Unification topic because you can have so many different opinions on it.

Basically Bismark was a crazed nutter who was into autocracy in a big way, he was aggressive in his use of militarism and ended up sucessfully uniting the German states by using this as a tool of diplomacy.
He represents old world Germany, he was a strong, militaristic type who was part of the Junker echelons of German society.

My arguments generally centre on - yes he was a bit of an old bastard, but he did a hell of a good job in getting Germany's act together.
