My mark was 82%.

Curious what societies did you learn about and how long your essays and such were?

80% in yearl exam.

I joined after the half-yearly: i did alexandria, Cicero and Pliny. I like ancient egypt personally but we're doing Greece and Rome in year 12.

We done:
intro to ancient history
dier-el-medina
homer and the trojan war
tutankhamun

what ones did you guys choose to right about in the test?

I am doing greece for everything in year 12 save the core subject on rome.

On my first assesment task we had to make a log on a pretend dig we done and i got a B which dragged my rank down which frustrated me but I haven't recieved my yearly rank yet.

i think we're doing pompeii as a core and then hatsepshut or whatever and sparta

well intro to ancient history was mandatory in section i

section ii we either did homer and the trojan war, bog bodies or tutankhamun

section iii was deir el medina

25 marks each and i got 14, 16 and 20.5 respectively

Over the yr we did the mandatory intro (Archaeology) topic. Our case studies were bog bodies, tutankhamen and the iceman.

Then we did to in depth societies- Deir-el Medina (mainly on new kingdom religious practices) and Rome in the 1st century AD.

In our yrly we had 3 sections all worth 25 mrks each. 1st was a skills/source archaeology question which required interpretation of material. Second was an essay on either medina or Rome, and third was short answers on either ICeman/Bog Bodies/Tutankmen.

I was stoked as i got 73/75.... which is like 97.3%. Just hope i do as well this yr.

We did:
Intro to archaeology
Tutankhamun
Rome
The Celts
Homer and the Trojan War
Boudicca
Greek Drama.
But we only had to write an essay on 3 of them. I chose-
Tutankhamun- 16/20
Greek Drama- 18/20
The Celts- 18/20.
For a total of- 52/60. I think that works out to be around 86%, I was ranked 2nd.
Unfortunately my 2 middle assessment tasks pulled me down, so my course rank was =5th out of 48. :(

I got 86% in my prelim.. ranked 1st in the year for the course. :)
We did the intro, like everyone else (God I hate archaeology), Rome, Homer and the Trojan War, and.. Minoan Crete. I can't remember much else (took me 20 minutes to remember Minoan Crete!)

Currently doing Sparta.. lot's of fun

I did the same exam as you I think.
I got 92 %
But somehow I don’t think that’s going to reflect my HSC mark!
I seem to be getting worse as I go along! lol

my prelim mark was around 87-90%. i can not remember exactly what we did but it involved medina and tut. unfortunately my hsc assessment has only been around the 75% mark which I am not sure what the reason is for this. ah well.
