What's the difference between the two and what characteristics/features of a person do you associate with each type? Also, what do you prefer?

Someone can be pretty, but not necessarily be hot. Hot is associated more with sex appeal, in my opinion. To you, what's the difference between a girl/guy who is pretty/handsome and a girl/guy who is hot?

hot means you are sexually attracted to them. handsome or pretty just means they look good but you dont necessarily want to do them. you dont have to be pretty to be hot in my opinion but it helps

my friends and i usually use this classification and it works for either gender

sexy- is like someone who is hot and makes u go mmmmmmmmm, while thinking about doing them right here right now.. but sexy can also define personality. like someone that is hot but also has a great personality which makes em sexy... usually sexy has to involve hotness ;p

hot- someone hot refers to their image and the idea that it can be based on lust. its all about looks.. usually they rnt pretty boi looks, more like rugged, trimmed body, gorgeous face kinda looks...

cute- encompassess both pretty and handsome. its like someone u think "aww" to.. makes u wana cuddle into them.. (not that u cant do it with the other categories.. but u think cuddle first to these one and not the others)

to break it down:
*handsome is like someone u cud maybe define as gentlemenlike and manly at the same time... i.e- hmm.. Ethan from passions.. lol

*pretty is more like when u describe pretty boys- like that guy from aus idol- anthony- hes a pretty boy- got pretty features but some wud still think is hot

yeah i agree. i would say someone is hot if they have a nice figure/body. and i would say someone was pretty by the way their face looks, and it sometimes goes further into how they hold themselves - like walk or listen etc.
and handsome....same thing, its in the face and the way they act.
and cute is personality and looks.

but they are all attractiveness so i cant vote because i wouldnt have one with out the other. like i believe my boyfriend, is hot, sexy, cute and very handsome...so yeah..

I think that a lot of being "hot" comes from confidence and the way one acts/walks/talks... but yeah its also a lot rougher/sexier than handsomeness/prettiness (which is more natural and more in the face than in the body). I go for "hot" in guys i think.

"hot" reminds me of this guy at school. man he is HOT. perfect tanned body and absolute gorgeous face. personality's a bit random though.
