1. how many different hands of five cards can be dealt from a pack of 52 cards??


2. A box contains 3 black balls, 4 red balls and 7 green balls. two balls are drawn at random.
a) what is the probability of drawing at least one red ball?
b) what is the probability o drawing two green balls?
c) what is the probability of balls of different colours
d) what is the probability of the first ball being yellow and the second ball being red??


3. 4 people write their names on slips of paper and place them in a hat. each then draws a slip of paper from the hat. what is the probability that no one draws their own name?


4. a hand of 5 cards is dealt from a deck of 52 cards.
a) what is the probability that the hand contains at least one ace
b) what is the probability that the hand contains exactly one ace?
c) what is the probability that the hand contains no aces?


lol people can sum1 plz help me with these questions showing working out.. i think i have the answers but im not sure that my working out is correct and my answer...

1) think 3unit question

2) a) P(at least 1) = 1 - P(0) = 1 - 4/14
b) [7/14] x [6/13]
c) = P(BR) + P(BG) + P(RG) = ([3/14] x [4/13]) + ([3/14] x [7/13]) + ([4/14] x [7/13])
d) 0


3) P(noone picks their name) = P(of the first person not getting their name, AND the second person not getting their name, AND the 3rd person not getting their name, AND the 4th person not getting their name) = (3/4)(3/4)(3/4)(3/4)

4) a) P(at least 1) = 1 = P(0) = 1 - (48/52 x 47/51 x 46/50 x 45/49 x 44/48)
b) 3unit question
c) (48/52 x 47/51 x 46/50 x 45/49 x 44/48)
