Don't forget your trusty BOS! 
Once you get tired of the 'New Posts' function, simply sift through your post history, bump up a few random threads in NS, be the ultimate L&R voyeur by reading all how many pages of the threads of kinky places people have had sex in, what age and how they lost their virginity, take your mind away on vacation with the Reading Room and Travel forums, discuss the latest and cooliest technologies in the IT Stuff and Cars sections, bring out the best in spring fashion in the Fashion forum, dicuss the latest issues in NCAP, moan about the latest soap in Entertainment, or, if you're really lost for ideas, read all threads that people are currently reading in the "Who's Online" section.
**Note, I have not actually gotten to that stage yet--it's interesting enough just repeatedly clicking the "New Posts" function.
